00:00:43.889 --> 00:00:52.378
What we're talking about today is painful. It literally is painful for me. And I'll tell you not anymore, thankfully. But it was
00:00:52.408 --> 00:00:53.609
it was really crippling.
00:00:53.728 --> 00:01:16.168
Yeah, I was having severe joint pain. We're not talking about my energy issues today. I had terrible joint pain, I want you to go back and listen to our very first episode where we talk about our story. And what was it the root of it all? what was causing a lot of it? It was what we're talking about today. oils.
00:01:16.498 --> 00:01:47.879
I'm not kidding you. When we figured this piece out, it changed so many things for us not everything because there were other key factors, other key nutrients we were actually missing. But oil can be super inflammatory. Now we're going to talk about other things I know you might be thinking in your head, I've heard certain oils are healthy. We're going to talk about all that today. But right now, I want you to look at the back of the ingredients. At the back of the boxes side of the boxes, wherever the ingredients are listed on your products.
00:01:48.239 --> 00:01:59.459
Start looking at oil in there, because you're gonna find it in the places you know, you're gonna find it like chips and crackers and things like that.
00:01:54.539 --> 00:02:15.058
But look at the side of your sauces. You think, oh, marinara sauce, it's probably just got tomatoes in it, right? No, it's got a lot of oil in there. You know, you're gonna find it everywhere I challenge you to find a process feed that doesn't have some type of oil added.
00:02:15.748 --> 00:02:32.878
Good luck with that. I'm talking, you are getting some natural on a regular basis. And if you're trying to stop pain, stop joint inflammation. This is one of the simplest places to start. Now, of course we know maybe haven't thought about it.
00:02:32.878 --> 00:02:45.359
Actually, I didn't think about it for a long time. It is not a whole plant food. Right? It's not a whole food we think of them as well. They come from plants, right? They can't be that bad. But again, it's pressed out of its natural form.
00:02:45.389 --> 00:02:48.389
It is not in its full package.
00:02:45.389 --> 00:02:49.139
And when you do that what happens?
00:02:49.259 --> 00:02:50.969
You take out all the nutrients from it.
00:02:51.058 --> 00:02:57.028
Yeah, the nutrients are gone. I wouldn't say all the nutrients some oils. Yeah, something else those some oils.
00:02:57.028 --> 00:03:18.329
Do you have some nutrients in there, but you're losing a ton of the good stuff, the fibres gone, most of the phytonutrients are gone. Why not? Instead of having olive oil, just eat the olive right? And we think we're convinced we'll have got to have all saute. I mean, I grew up in the south, right? I've got to have old to saute. I've got to have old to bake. No you don't.
00:03:18.449 --> 00:03:24.959
I bake. I saw tie all the time without a will. We don't miss it. The only thing we miss is the joint pain, which is gone.
00:03:24.959 --> 00:03:27.598
It's a great thing to miss. We were happy to kiss that goodbye.
00:03:27.808 --> 00:03:36.989
I mean, Jared, even I don't even think you realized you had so much joint pain because you made a comment to me. Do you remember what you said? Well, I
00:03:36.780 --> 00:04:00.449
know that I had shoulder pain and hip joint pain. And for me, it went on for a couple of years, but it was never debilitating like it was with you. But once we change what we ate, I noticed after a few months of Hey, this is gone. I wake up and my shoulders don't hurt me anymore. I can actually reach into the backseat of my car for something and my shoulders not wrenching in pain.
00:04:00.508 --> 00:04:12.718
But do you remember talking about how we would think? Well, we're just getting older. I mean, really, it's pitiful how we're all kind of conditioned to think, well, with age, we're just going to start hurting.
00:04:13.079 --> 00:04:14.399
That's just inevitable
00:04:14.429 --> 00:04:26.218
that makes me want to cry. Because now I know what we know. And I know that doesn't have to be your story. It certainly didn't have to be our story. And we've changed that we've been able to change that.
00:04:23.728 --> 00:04:40.408
And that is what whole plant foods can do for you. They not only taste great, they make you feel great. And that was not the case at all. For us. It caused a ton of pain and inflammation.
00:04:34.738 --> 00:05:02.009
And not only that, it's a super high calorie food being pressed out. And then you look at Okay, I'm gonna have just a table slushes say I had a salad dressing on my salad, and only a tablespoon of salad dressing on my whole entire salad. Have you ever just use one tablespoon? At least when you weren't dieting?
00:04:57.988 --> 00:05:20.728
But let's just say, you know, I mean, we pour it on. I mean, I've seen people take bottles of oil and just pour it over because they think it's healthy, and they're just pouring and pouring. Did you know that each tablespoon of oil that you ate has 120 calories in it? Now we're not believers and preachers of counting calories.
00:05:20.908 --> 00:05:37.738
This is why we don't have to count calories because we don't eat the added oils. We don't eat the pressed out things like this. It really has little to no flavor. Yes, olive oil. And some oils like that had a little bit of flavor, but you're not going to miss it. I'm telling you.
00:05:34.408 --> 00:06:02.519
It's amazing the flavors you get when you start combining these foods the right way and getting the fresh, just the good ingredients. You're not going to go out your door and go strolling down the street and look over. Oh, look, Honey, look at that beautiful oil tree with the big bottles of oil hanging off of it. Ooh, wouldn't that be great in our food? I mean, really, you've got to think about that. How did we feel when we were eating oils may How do you feel after you got a meal with oil in it compared to how you feel now?
00:06:02.550 --> 00:06:12.060
Well usually make me feel heavy and weighed down and tired. And now whenever I eat, my body feels fueled. I don't feel tired. I just feel fueled.
00:06:08.790 --> 00:06:12.060
Well,
00:06:12.089 --> 00:06:26.790
don't you think that kind of was part of the energy issue as well though, it wasn't really that we weren't getting the nutrients it was that we were eating this head. I mean, think about oil, it's heavy. It's it's not a light, refreshing food.
00:06:26.790 --> 00:06:30.930
It's heavy. And it really does coat things up on the inside.
00:06:30.930 --> 00:06:59.730
And it's just not good for us the sciences there. It shows how it causes problems with our vessels as well. It's an inflammatory food, it makes you hurt. And it's no wonder with the amount we're getting where it's hiding in all these products. And it's not just that we're pouring it on although we are with our dressings and things even when I made a homemade dressing. I mean, I take a bottle of oil and I start so I'd have a little vinegar in there and on start drizzling in the oil and whisking it in and drizzle drizzle, drizzle drizzle until we get thick
00:06:59.750 --> 00:07:03.290
when we thought it was a health food if a little is good, more must be better.
00:07:03.360 --> 00:07:06.149
Absolutely. And we were wrong in the first place.
00:07:06.149 --> 00:07:41.699
Obviously, it wasn't a health food. But you can make dressings thick. Let's say I have Okay, I'm just going to give one little example of something like we would teach inside the membership because I want people to understand how do you do this. So I'm making dressings and sauces. Let's just say most of the ingredients in there are thin. I have let's just do we're already talking about balsamic so let's think about a balsamic vinegar it so I might have balsamic vinegar, mustard, maybe some garlic, maybe some herbs and spices. How's that going to stick to my salad? Not super well, you can eat it that way.
00:07:41.730 --> 00:08:10.199
That's fine. If you're in a hurry, no problem. It'll taste great. It will stick some but you're not going to get that coding feeling or the coded feeling like you get eating an oily dressing. So what do you do, there are a lot of different things you can do. But one thing you can start doing is add in when you make your dressings add in some beans and blend it preferably a white bean of any kind, add in the beans blend it and makes it they can creamy.
00:08:06.870 --> 00:09:25.649
Obviously if it's too You don't want to add too many because it make it too thick. Just start with a little at a time and get it where you like it. That is a quick and easy way to replace oil and dressings. You can do the same and sauces. There are a lot of different things you can add to do that. You can get rid of oil in baking salt Tang, like we just said. We don't we grill without oil. I mean, we don't we're not putting marinates on with oils on our things. We still we grill vegetables and we'll hit marinates on them but no oil and we don't miss it. I mean, you think it's this big life shattering thing. We even make cake, no oil, no dairy, no eggs, right? No white sugar. We make these things that are wonderful that we love. But our joints aren't incapacitating us anymore. I'm not standing crying in the shower when I wash my hair anymore. And it's a wonderful way to live. Who wants to live that way. And if there's a way to do it, where you can make it enjoyable and you still don't hurt. That's a win win. So what should you do first, get in your pantry, get in your frigerator start looking at the bottle products, the box products, things that you have that aren't oil, and notice what is in there look for oil, you're not going to believe it.
00:09:26.009 --> 00:09:31.558
You'll be shocked we e en found it on some of our herb nd spice blends that we bought prepackaged.
00:09:31.590 --> 00:10:52.470
The herbs and spices. Y ah, the ones that always read t ose because oils are hidin in there. You won't believe how many things have oil and the amount that you're eating n a regular basis. It's no wo der that your joints ache, it' no wonder and we're not ven talking about the other th ngs that all causes right now. T ere are many other problems that can cause we want to focus on j int pain right now because th t's one of the things that was ust such a big game changer for oth of us. After you locate the products that do have oil, s art looking for the same things hat are oil free. Like if you ha e a salsa that you buy that has oil in it, look for ones that do't. And those are the sauces, yo're going to buy the ones wit out added oil and without a ded sugar. That's what yo're looking for. Okay, so fi st, notice what has a lot of oi in it. Start getting out of our life by replacing it with be ter products. Next, we want yo to think about ways that you ca not pour the bottle of oil on our things. Don't pour it into our pan to saute it's not necess ry. Most vegetables released ar on liquid, or get some other li uid in the pan. You do not nee to bake with oil, we use to slather potatoes and and bu ter or and that wasn't better for astable Yeah, vegetable oil or we would pour it ver vegetables. We thought we ha to hold them down before you put them in there s
00:10:53.250 --> 00:10:55.320
carrots and things like that. And butter.
00:10:55.379 --> 00:10:58.318
Yeah, you don't need it.
00:10:55.379 --> 00:11:02.009
It's just not necessary. And that's the great news. And it will still taste really amazing.
00:11:02.009 --> 00:11:29.219
Just try it. And just because it says vegan on the box doesn't mean it's better for you. vegan butter, vegan sour cream, vegan cheese, most of those are full of coconut oils and other oils are not good for you. Vegan yogurt, same thing, be really picky about those things, look at them and see what do they have in them. A lot of times, they still have a lot of oil, those are pro inflammatory.
00:11:26.099 --> 00:11:29.219
They're going to make you hurt.
00:11:29.489 --> 00:11:43.678
If you're hurting. The one big takeaway I want you to have here is there is hope. We've given you a lot of different things you can do just in this one episode alone to start reversing your pain and inflammation.
00:11:40.649 --> 00:12:00.688
