00:01:00.000 --> 00:01:13.620
This is a subject that we are very familiar with. We've seen patients we've had friends, we've had family members with high cholesterol, and even herself had high cholesterol wasn't super, super high, but it was high above normal levels.
00:01:13.680 --> 00:01:16.290
Well generally accepted normal levels, I should say,
00:01:16.319 --> 00:01:19.140
right? And we look for natural ways to reduce it.
00:01:19.140 --> 00:01:26.370
Because basically, I have family members who've gone through it, and they took the medications and what did they end up with?
00:01:26.760 --> 00:01:58.739
One of them that with crippling problems with her muscle pain, joint pain, muscle pain, yeah, those typical things that happen in there are other side effects that can happen from the medications. So as we looked into the natural possibilities of what to take, and how to fix it, one thing that came up was red rice yeast extract. So I started taking that well come to find out it's just a natural form of a Staton drug. And so I had a lot of those same things start to happen, I was aching, I was starting to have some really bad problems with my joints. And
00:01:59.069 --> 00:02:22.800
I think the joint pain was the worst where I remember in your elbows, elbows in the wrist, red yeast rice, it's a natural form, or it's lova statten, but it's created naturally. So it's the same thing as what was one of the first ends out on the market. So it's touted as a natural cholesterol medication. But it's really no different than the one that you might get by prescription.
00:02:22.830 --> 00:02:34.379
Exactly. And so I was basically doing the same thing as if I've been taking a prescription statin drug, and had some of the similar side effects. Needless to say, I didn't stay on that for long.
00:02:32.129 --> 00:02:44.009
And I think that happens with a lot of people with status, they try it, they don't stay on it for long, or they keep going with it and end up with pretty bad problems down the road a lot of times, and you had stopped that
00:02:44.009 --> 00:03:02.280
red yeast rice, but it took, I think, a good two or three months before it really went away, even then it may not have gone completely. But I remember, you were worried. I mean, we're both worried, but especially you because you had stopped. And even a few weeks later, you think good lord, am I going to be this way forever. I mean, it was
00:03:02.280 --> 00:03:10.050
bad. And then it did go away, which was great. But I didn't take it very long, it didn't take long for that to happen. And that's the same way that that's the same experience.
00:03:10.050 --> 00:03:12.780
I've seen many people have a stat and medications.
00:03:13.439 --> 00:03:42.419
So we're not saying that we're against medications. And we say this all the time. And we will continue to do so there is a time and a place for them. In any decisions you make regarding your medications, please, please do that under the guidance of your your provider. Just because they're there with you. They know your history, they're examining you, they're checking your levels, they're in the best position to give you that sound advice. But there are natural ways that you can reduce this.
00:03:42.419 --> 00:03:45.780
Now, I want to let you know cholesterol is not the enemy.
00:03:45.810 --> 00:04:34.050
It's not evil, our bodies need it every cell in your body has cholesterol, one of the things it does is it creates the membrane around your cell. So again, every cell in your body must have it. Another thing that I think most people don't realize is that the hormones in your body, estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, even vitamin D, the base molecule is cholesterol. It has different branches. So it makes it a different different molecule and different functions. But it starts off as a cholesterol. So our body needs it, but our body will make all that it needs. So we don't really actually need it from dietary sources from our food. So when we get it from our food, we get too much. And that then become a problem, right?
00:04:34.050 --> 00:04:42.000
And then it can cause issues where it builds up in your blood vessels causing plaques producing blood flow, and then, you know, a whole series of events there. But
00:04:42.028 --> 00:04:46.348
so then how much cholesterol do you get from a whole food plant based diet?
00:04:46.829 --> 00:04:47.910
You get zero,
00:04:48.269 --> 00:04:50.009
then where does the cholesterol come from?
00:04:50.189 --> 00:04:54.959
It's only from animals.
00:04:50.189 --> 00:04:57.930
So eggs, dairy, meat, any kind of meat source fish, pork, chicken, any of those.
00:04:58.050 --> 00:05:00.750
I actually really need that. I just No, I saw
00:05:00.750 --> 00:05:07.350
the twinkle in your eye over there kind of winking at me. But it only comes from animal sources. So yeah,
00:05:07.379 --> 00:05:38.069
people need to know that it's really important. There was a time when we didn't know those things. And those are the things that can make all the difference in your life. Sometimes you just need to know these simple little things that can change everything for you. And if you don't know where cholesterol comes from, things like that, and you don't know that there's no fiber in animals, there's fiber only in plants. And you know, all those things can make a big difference. So with cholesterol, if you're getting it just from animal products, meat, dairy, eggs, milk, well, obviously, that's dairy, right?
00:05:38.759 --> 00:05:46.230
Then how do you make your cholesterol levels better? I mean, one of the big ways is
00:05:46.829 --> 00:05:49.858
going plant based. Yeah, going home. plant based,
00:05:49.889 --> 00:05:55.709
I mean, honestly, is one of the best things you can do for yourself for so many different things in your help.
00:05:55.709 --> 00:05:58.738
And it's scientifically backed.
00:05:55.709 --> 00:06:16.439
I mean, you start looking at the studies and it will blow your mind. But then we can tell you from my own experience, it changes everything. So of course, that's going to obviously be the number one thing we recommend. But today we're talking about one specific thing that you can do that's very simple. And that scientifically shown to reduce your cholesterol.
00:06:16.889 --> 00:06:31.949
It is actually a is a product, it's actually it's a berry. Yes, amla, or omelet powder, also called well people pronounce it amla, so you may hear that but it's also called the Indian gooseberry.
00:06:32.160 --> 00:06:35.220
spelled Am l A? Correct and
00:06:35.220 --> 00:06:45.930
it comes in various forms, you can find it frozen, you can find it powder juice, sometimes you can even find extracts, although we say try to get it as close to whole as possible. If you can't get it whole,
00:06:46.170 --> 00:07:09.990
they usually the easiest way to get it is powder. This is how we take all my Radar Online, it's just dried and then pulverized, basically. So it's the whole fruit. Now you can get it in pill form. We don't recommend that because what they found in testing a lot of the Ayurvedic medicines, and that's kind of how its labeled as a supplement. They found that they can be high in heavy metals, and you certainly don't want that.
00:07:10.110 --> 00:07:15.480
So we just take a powdered form that's organic on the powder, and we'll link that for you down below.
00:07:16.170 --> 00:07:28.709
But what they have found that just that alone attitude, a person's diet, what they're already eating, had significant cholesterol lowering ability.
00:07:24.300 --> 00:07:41.100
They actually compared it to Lipitor, which is a tour of a statin and Zocor, which is Simba Staton, and it had almost the same effect, it was found to be just as effective as those medications and lowering your cholesterol.
00:07:41.160 --> 00:07:44.430
And so but you probably had to take a ton of it today, right? You
00:07:44.430 --> 00:07:57.149
think it'd be a ton for a very long time, but no, actually, they found it was about half a teaspoon, which equaled about a berry. Wow, they looked into studies, one to two berries worse. So you're looking at half a teaspoon, how
00:07:57.149 --> 00:07:58.529
often? Daily,
00:07:58.619 --> 00:07:59.218
once a day,
00:07:59.399 --> 00:08:02.369
to have a teaspoon a day.
00:07:59.399 --> 00:08:31.319
And you can have the same effects almost. I think it was right at the same as what you took a Staton with the side effect of the fact that it's a little sour tasting. I mean, there's really, there's no side effect to it that's been ever shown. So think about that for just a moment, a half teaspoon of a powder that cost, since I'm talking literal sense. Now, you might pay a little bit more for it if you're buying organic. But still,
00:08:31.319 --> 00:08:32.190
it's not getting
00:08:32.250 --> 00:08:52.019
any more than diabetic medication word or a word right now, we're not even talking about diabetes yet. But we're talking about cholesterol, I'm kind of given things away ahead of time. We're about to go there. But really, it's just it's something that's natural, and that the reason we don't eat the fruit is because usually we can't find it here. And so we just get it
00:08:52.950 --> 00:08:56.820
specifically in India, and it comes over from there.
00:08:57.720 --> 00:09:04.500
That we like I said, we get it in a powdered form. That's our preferred way because we use it a lot in smoothies. Sometimes we'll do it in smoothie bowls.
00:09:04.590 --> 00:09:34.649
It's great to put it I mean, it really doesn't have much of a flavor. It's it almost tastes like if you've ever eaten vitamin C like a little vitamin C capsule, it's just kind of got that sour, citrusy, flavor to the powder does. Um, some people do eat the fruit if you happen to find that in an Indian market somewhere. Try it. I mean, it might be really good. There's another some people online that show how to eat it. A lot of times I think they just cut it up and eat it with a little salt although I wouldn't necessarily recommend adding salt to things but I've seen the main it that way before
00:09:34.649 --> 00:09:42.360
Well, you could try the whole thing if you have access then you could cut it up and make almost like a berry salad where there are other berries that are sweeter to kind of offset the sour flavor
00:09:42.389 --> 00:09:54.570
but for the powder that's easy to find easy to use only half teaspoon a day and you can add that to your meal. It's wonderful added to a meal you wouldn't really notice it especially if you're putting other berries and things in your eyes.
00:09:55.080 --> 00:09:57.299
You wouldn't notice it at all. I'll say we
00:09:57.299 --> 00:10:07.950
do put it mostly in smoothies and smoothie bowls, things like So it's really simple to get in half teaspoon a day. And it can make a tremendous difference with your cholesterol.
00:10:08.519 --> 00:10:27.659
Yes, and I'm glad you said that because I wanted to highlight what they showed in the studies is that it was almost it reduced the LDL or bad cholesterol, and then triglycerides, almost 50%, which was about what the Zocor and the Lipitor did. That's a found that it raise your HDL about 25%.
00:10:28.200 --> 00:10:38.580
Okay, and the HDL is the good cholesterol cholesterol. So it's raising yet as well as lowering the bad cholesterol just as much as the status that they compared it to in the study
00:10:38.669 --> 00:10:56.399
in the study, right. But the effect didn't take months to achieve, they actually achieved in about three weeks. That's amazing. There was one study too, though, they found that they achieved the effects in four weeks, had the people take it for several weeks, and then come off of the omelet powder.
00:10:56.730 --> 00:10:59.730
And then within two weeks, their cholesterol is came right back to baseline.
00:10:59.759 --> 00:11:18.330
Wow. So it's something you need to do on a regular basis, then it's not something you just take every here and there every now and again, and hope it helps. I mean, you'd really want to do this on a regular basis. That's the same with all whole plant foods. I mean, you just want to get a great variety that just shows you it works. Somehow
00:11:18.360 --> 00:11:19.379
there are things in the plant
00:11:19.409 --> 00:11:29.399
aided in the plants that our bodies need, and absolutely have to have to function correctly. Let's go into the some of the other benefits that we know from studies that we've seen lately.
00:11:29.850 --> 00:11:34.259
It also had a pretty significant effect on diabetes.
00:11:34.470 --> 00:11:46.889
Now, I'm a backup to the statens. Because I saw this to where they said that regular use of statens actually increase a person's risk of developing diabetes by about 10% or so.
00:11:47.220 --> 00:12:15.330
Okay, so that's not saying yeah, that's not a good thing. But then now with the the effect of the omma powder on blood sugar, it took, they looked at there was a medication that glyburide and it makes your pancreas put out more insulin. So you're putting out more you're not really correcting the problem, you're just controlling it, and what they found. So that's okay, we're all
00:12:15.330 --> 00:12:18.299
diabetic medication, you take like a pill. Correct? Okay.
00:12:18.690 --> 00:12:42.179
I don't remember if it's once or twice a day, but it's a daily medication. And they looked at the effect of the omelet powder. And over the course of I think it was three weeks. But whatever the timeframe was it actually they looked at one gram, two gram and three grams, and three grams of almond powder would be equivalent of almost two berries. So we're not
00:12:42.179 --> 00:12:44.340
talking to huge amount at spins that would be I
00:12:44.879 --> 00:13:13.350
think it was three quarters of a teaspoon. So we're still talking like if you've got the powder, we're not talking about a large amount here. But what they found is that it dropped the people in the study from being high blood sugar, they believe fasting blood sugar was around 140. So we're not talking here. I mean, we're not talking like 300 level, but it was still diabetic. But it put it down to around 80 to 100, which is normal range, normal range within just a few weeks.
00:13:13.529 --> 00:13:16.019
Yeah, it's amazing. It's amazing.
00:13:16.049 --> 00:13:21.600
They didn't really specify what they thought the mechanism of action was, but it it worked.
00:13:21.629 --> 00:13:35.970
So we see several studies that show that just even a half teaspoon, two, three quarters teaspoon of almond powder per day, getting an M very simply in a smoothie. This is what we recommend a smoothie or or your meal, something like that.
00:13:36.090 --> 00:13:45.509
However you like it best, that can reduce not only your cholesterol without the side effects of cholesterol lowering medications, but it can also
00:13:46.860 --> 00:13:47.850
fight cancer.
00:13:48.149 --> 00:14:08.309
Well fight cancer, that was another we haven't even talked about that yet. But also decrease your blood sugar to normal levels. If you have diabetes, okay, it can't, we're not saying it's gonna do that for you, you may have really high blood sugars, and you need to do other things in combination with it. And obviously, again, you know, just think about this for one minute, I want you to just grasp this.
00:14:08.309 --> 00:15:51.059
This is one thing we're sharing with you one food. And you've got to think about this in terms of what if I did that with multiple whole plant foods. Now what's going to happen this is one food, reducing that much your cholesterol, raising your good cholesterol, reducing your bad cholesterol and reducing your blood sugars down to normal levels in these studies. Then what is going to happen if you start eating more greens and a variety of berries, and purple fades in your life and grains, beans and nuts and seeds and all these wonderful foods in creation that your body's craving but not getting on a regular basis? What is going to happen to your health and let me tell you, we know how to answer some has shown it we've, we've shown it and seen it in our own lives, vascular disease reverses skin diseases, skin problems can reverse allergies go away, migraines can go away. And people can come off their insolence at times, it just depends on the person or situation, people come off insulin, people have had heart disease, reverse blood pressures come back to normal levels, you know, it breaks our heart to see people going through these things, and not even knowing that they can try them, their doctors or their providers might just not know and just tell them, you know, what, I'm sorry, this is just the way it is. But we can get this down with these medications. But you've still got the underlying problem driving it, that you're not getting good nutrition, that's one of the foundational things that your body needs to be able to heal because your body was created to heal, and it needs to be able to heal. It would
00:15:51.059 --> 00:15:54.990
be like giving a repairman coming to your home.
00:15:54.990 --> 00:16:11.309
And I don't know let's say they're, they're fixing some siding on your house. And you say, Well, here's here's some boards. And here's a hammer, but I'm not going to give you any nails. Well, that's what we're doing to our body when we're not giving it the the nutrients, the nutrition it needs to heal.
00:16:11.429 --> 00:16:15.960
We're not giving it all the tools and the materials it needs to do its job properly.
00:16:16.080 --> 00:16:37.110
Right. And then we end up in trouble. Sometimes very big trouble. Yeah, it's miserable. I mean, I know, I remember what it was like. And it's just so frustrating to me to see other people being told these things, we'll just donate this or, you know, you just need a whole food plant base, but they're not showing how are, you know, you just you're left overwhelmed, and you don't know what to do.
00:16:35.100 --> 00:16:46.350
And that's why it's our passion to show people how to live this amazing lifestyle and how great it can taste and how simple it can be. Was there anything else we wanted to share about?
00:16:46.590 --> 00:16:59.700
Well, what didn't mention the cancer, but also right before that, though, is that they found that it helped to reduce inflammation. And a side effect of that was that they found that blood vessels are the arteries in your body.
00:17:00.120 --> 00:17:04.259
They they became looser, not as hard
00:17:04.289 --> 00:17:05.579
more or less, more elastic.
00:17:05.579 --> 00:17:12.210
Thank you. That's what I'm looking for. They became more elastic, which has the effect of lowering your blood pressure. So that thought that was interesting.
00:17:12.240 --> 00:17:15.839
Yeah, it's amazing because plant foods never just come with one beneficial side
00:17:15.838 --> 00:17:16.409
effect.
00:17:16.618 --> 00:17:20.969
I mean, you start eating greens and all of a sudden this changes and this changes and this changes for the better.
00:17:20.969 --> 00:17:22.409
It's never just one thing pretty
00:17:22.410 --> 00:17:38.069
amazing. It is but we had seen a study with omelette regarding I believe it was breast cancer cells that were on a a plate with a think it's auger but they it's kind of a gelatin type of growth medium right, that they grow on. So they just let it grow. And the cancer cells
00:17:38.069 --> 00:17:44.940
cancer cells on the maybe the growth medium, that's kind of like jealous, is that what you're saying? Correct. So then what happened in the control,
00:17:45.150 --> 00:17:52.710
when the control those blue cells just grew out of control? I mean, it actually permeated into the growth medium. So their
00:17:52.710 --> 00:17:56.789
base, so there was hurting the spread of the cancer. Right.
00:17:56.849 --> 00:18:02.789
So then there was a common chemotherapy agent that they used in it cut that spread by about
00:18:02.819 --> 00:18:09.900
well, where did they put it? They put it into the medium into the Jarrod Yes, type substance. And then they light the cancer cells on top,
00:18:09.930 --> 00:18:12.960
and then it reduced the spread by about 50%.
00:18:13.019 --> 00:18:16.289
And that was the chemotherapy agent. That's commonly is correct. Okay.
00:18:16.950 --> 00:18:29.579
So then they did the same thing with the omelet powder inside that growth medium. And it had almost the same reduction. And it spread.
00:18:24.839 --> 00:18:31.980
so worried that there was a chemotherapy. So it worked almost as well.
00:18:32.009 --> 00:18:37.500
It was something like a 50% rejection with the chemo and a 4045
00:18:37.529 --> 00:18:59.430
something it was in that range. It wasn't a huge reduction. I'm sorry, a huge reduction, but not a huge difference between the two, right, especially when you consider the price between the two. And these are the side effects the side effects. Yeah, because again, the side effect with omelette is sour taste. You know, some of us we might like the sourness,
00:18:59.519 --> 00:19:16.619
right. And again, we're not telling you don't ever do chemo, what we're telling you is there is so much potential and what the pulp plant foods can do for you. And that's what we want you to really think about get those in there now get them in there before your doctor even mentioned schema to prevent your cancer. Exactly.
00:19:16.740 --> 00:19:37.140
And I think that that's the big takeaway from the study, though, is that eating this way on a regular basis could help to prevent this cells because we already naturally have cancer cells within our bodies, each and every one of them but our immune systems when they're working properly, can identify them and kill them. Right?
00:19:33.119 --> 00:19:44.910
Right. But also to with the foods that you eat, they can also help to prevent those from becoming a tumor or spreading cancer.
00:19:44.940 --> 00:20:20.700
Exactly. Well, there's so many things you can do. Make sure you get a wide variety of a whole plant foods and look into getting some almond powder into your life. It's amazing. It's a simple way to boost your health and definitely don't just do that one. Start getting more of the fruits and vegetables and less of the animal products into your life as you get more and more of the fruits and vegetables and green greens and grains and looking at the five foundational foods, all the things we talked about all the time you get more access into your life, there's less room for the other stuff. You don't even have to worry about removing it.
00:20:17.279 --> 00:20:27.089
