00:01:10.530 --> 00:02:17.699
Hi, friends, we're glad that you can join us today we want to talk to you about something that's really important. And that is getting the right mindset. It's especially important when you're starting something new, like whole food plant based living. And one of the things that Jared and I have found while working with our clients, is the fact that many people don't have the right mindset about forgiving themselves. or just in general, when they make a mistake. We don't have the right mindset and know what to do we just think, oh, I've blown it. It's over now got to start all over again. I'm talking about we have clients who have started this way of living, and they'll contact us and say things like, I've blown it just like I said, You know, I don't know what to do. I mean, now got to start all over. Can you help me? And the first thing we say is, of course we can help you. But the first thing you need to do is don't worry so much about a mistake.
00:02:17.819 --> 00:02:37.409
Because the thing is a mistake is not a mistake. Unless you don't learn from it. Learn from it exactly. Yeah, you need to learn from what happened. And as long as you do that, it's not a mistake, and you absolutely don't have to worry about starting over at square one.
00:02:33.900 --> 00:02:51.389
We've had clients say this after they've been going with whole food lifestyle for months, then something happens. It throws them off track, like things change or go crazy in their family. And they're thinking okay, now what do I need to do to stay on track the next time?
00:02:51.569 --> 00:02:54.449
Well, they're already doing the right thing thinking that right?
00:02:54.569 --> 00:03:01.139
They just need somebody to come alongside them and say, It's okay, like Jared and I even had this exact same thing.
00:03:02.818 --> 00:03:09.449
same example, well, there was one example where we were even trying to do our best.
00:03:05.878 --> 00:03:15.568
And then we had gone to a popular restaurant been there a number of times picking the healthiest options, the healthier options,
00:03:15.838 --> 00:03:16.949
or so we thought or
00:03:16.949 --> 00:03:32.699
so we thought. And then after having eaten there a number of times, we later found out that they were actually coding their baked potatoes in pork fat. We had no idea we couldn't taste it. There was no sign of it at all. Yeah, that's,
00:03:33.719 --> 00:03:48.090
that's a mind blower right there. I mean, we're eating baked potatoes at a restaurant having no idea every time we order them. We're eating pork, no idea. And we haven't been eating pork for a long time for a lot of different reasons.
00:03:48.090 --> 00:04:09.030
Because it's known, it's scientifically proven that that can cause high cholesterol and all kinds of other things. I mean, they're cleaners they weren't meant to be food. And so of course, we find now through scientific evidence that they make us sick. And we were not really happy when we found that out. But we could have just thrown in the towel and said, well, we'll just give it
00:04:09.449 --> 00:04:10.139
was too hard.
00:04:10.169 --> 00:04:12.269
Yeah, it's too hard.
00:04:10.169 --> 00:04:30.838
We'll never be able to eat out anymore. It's gonna ruin our lives. Well, we still eat out as often as we want. And we do things we teach our clients to do so that we don't worry about it. There's simple ways to navigate things like eating out, you know, real life situations, you have to know how to do that.
00:04:27.088 --> 00:04:57.899
But then if something happens in that situation, you don't worry about it. You just know that the three minutes you've already done haven't all been undone by that one little slip up or quote mistake. You learn from it. What what caused it or you know what was at the root of it and you just learn and grow and go from there. And then really, if you learn from it, the mistake isn't a mistake. And of course, all that time is not and then
00:04:58.350 --> 00:05:02.579
we also think of all the skills that you've learned in those last two to three months,
00:05:02.730 --> 00:05:07.199
absolutely got to remember that you've learned a lot, and you've come a long way.
00:05:04.980 --> 00:05:42.600
And your body's not going to just undo everything you've just worked so hard to do in that one little thing. Now, this is a funny thing that happened to us wasn't so funny at the time. But looking back on it, it's crazy, because you're taking supplements right at the time, we were taking a lot more than we do now. And we show our clients which ones are important, there are very few supplements you need to take if you're getting a healthy plate, because the good nutrients are in your food. Anyway, we were taking quite a few supplements at the time. And we one day I just looked at the back of the supplement,
00:05:42.629 --> 00:05:43.949
look at the ingredient list.
00:05:44.069 --> 00:06:20.670
And you know, I knew and we had learned at that point that gelatin had usually animal products in it, right? It was created from animals. So look at the back of the supplement bottle, like Jared said of the ingredients list. And lo and behold, gelatin, what in the world was so mad. So here I'm taking these supplements to try to benefit my health. And I'm eating animal products when I knew I didn't want to do that, because I knew that wasn't good for my health. And you know, it's just crazy. You're doing these things to get healthy. And then you're taking in things you don't even realize.
00:06:21.089 --> 00:06:23.850
But anyway, it's just part of the journey, though.
00:06:23.879 --> 00:06:25.860
Yeah, it really has been part of the journey.
00:06:25.980 --> 00:06:57.870
It is it is. But wait, the nice thing is we can take those things that we've learned and show you ahead of time so that you don't have to make the same mistakes. Yours will be new, and that's okay. Because really a mistake again, it's not a mistake if you learn from it now. I have to say this, Bob Ross, do you remember what Bob Ross used to say? Yeah, we watched him. I think sometimes that was even piped through the TV at our school. I remember our teacher rolling up the school and TV set into our room like
00:06:57.899 --> 00:07:03.389
oh, yeah, the big giant screen on the on the Oh, the little trolley thing.
00:07:03.420 --> 00:07:07.860
Yeah, like a cart and then push the green cart in the
00:07:07.860 --> 00:07:10.079
thing was so top heavy.
00:07:07.860 --> 00:07:11.459
You just knew that it was gonna fall and crush somebody.
00:07:11.519 --> 00:07:12.360
Do you remember you
00:07:12.360 --> 00:07:16.680
had that too? Yeah. And they had the strap across the TV to keep it from falling off.
00:07:16.709 --> 00:07:26.579
That's hilarious. So sometimes we get to watch Bob Ross. I don't know if he got to watch that or not. But sometimes, anyway, he would say there are no accidents.
00:07:26.639 --> 00:07:28.529
What do you say there are no accidents, only
00:07:28.980 --> 00:08:03.240
mistakes, only happy little mistakes. I think what he said there no accidents, only happy little mistakes. Yeah, so you've got to think about that, we want you to remember that it's okay. And we're here to encourage is not lost. No. And we're here to encourage you and cheer you on. We're thrilled for you being on this journey. And one thing we do also want you to know is sometimes you can check and do your due diligence and look at those ingredients. And you buy this product. And so you have this product you're always buying on a regular basis, right? And you're not looking at the ingredients list anymore.
00:08:03.240 --> 00:08:06.240
Why? Because you always buy the product
00:08:06.360 --> 00:08:07.829
that's on your approved list. It's
00:08:07.829 --> 00:08:44.129
safe. No, it's not. Yeah, always check periodically, even the products that you trust, because there was a time when cascadian Farms was bought by another company. Like General Mills open, why can't remember the company. But some of their ingredients on their cereals change from things that were really great to things that weren't. So you do want to keep an eye on the list realistically, periodically and just check those things. So you again, it's nothing to worry about just something you want to keep an eye on. Because it's something that's tripped us up.
00:08:39.779 --> 00:08:44.129
Before we need these things.
00:08:44.490 --> 00:10:09.690
We're thrilled for you as you start your journey. Just know that there are no mistakes, only happy little accidents. And as long as you learn from those mistakes and grow, keep moving forward, don't let something trip you up and stop you from something that's making you feel great. And that's moving you forward and that you're losing weight and reversing disease and preventing diseases that you don't have yet.
