00:00:00.569 --> 00:00:07.440
If you're like most people, you struggle with the idea of even getting to the gym.

00:00:03.479 --> 00:00:59.789
How are you going to find time to do that in your busy schedule? Or maybe if you have time you just absolutely dread it. It's the dreaded e word exercise. And today, we're gonna share with you some very simple ways to get moving and to improve your health without dreading it. 00:01:00.780 --> 00:01:24.959
Deep inside, you know, there are so many health benefits to getting your body moving. But we all have this idea that it must require, like we said before the dreaded D word exercise. When we think of exercise, we think being in four walls, sweaty people exercise equipment, and it doesn't have to be just that. Sure. That's one way of doing it if that's what you enjoy, but I don't think most people do.

00:01:25.019 --> 00:02:02.370
I love being outside. And I think that one of the main things I absolutely hate about the idea of exercise is being inside the four walls, it's just not natural, what we were created to do. And if I have to be inside four walls, then I got to go to a gym that requires getting ready getting out of the house getting there in some form, or fashion parking going in. And then I'm inside when I want to be outside or want to be visiting with friends or family or it's just it doesn't involve anything that I enjoy doing except for getting healthy. And there's so many other great ways to get healthy. It's wonderful to lift weights and do things like that to help build muscle.

00:02:02.370 --> 00:02:14.699
But there are things you can do at home or around the home to build muscle. And you can start doing planks, you can start doing push ups, you can set up a pull up bar in your home all those types of things to build muscle or feet.

00:02:15.780 --> 00:02:18.900
Next to a tree with the branch you can grab a branch and pull up.

00:02:20.430 --> 00:03:06.120
That's a good one. Or by creative Yeah, by free weights are you if you don't have a place to store those, you want a little portable gym, you can get a little portable gym for the house, but we got to get away from the idea of a gym. Okay, think about things that you enjoy doing. Or you've always wanted to try but you've never taken time to do that. Like maybe you've always wanted to learn to play pickleball or you've always wanted to learn how to win serve. Yeah, What sir? Exactly, that's a great one, or even a more low key one of doing photography. So you get out and you walk the nature trails. But you're moving, you're doing these things that are great for you maybe even combined, grounding with that where you're walking around barefoot. barefoot photography.

00:03:06.120 --> 00:04:02.370
There you go. Yeah, but there's a lot of different things you can do. Think about how you can build your relationships as well through exercise, or we're just going to call it movement. Just get moving. You know, it's so easy in our society today, to sit down in front of a tablet or phone or computer and live in this alternate reality virtual world. Yeah, that's not even real. I mean, let's just face it. A lot of the stuff we're seeing we know is that real or sensor? So we know that there are more healthy ways to do things. You want to be involved in real life because life is short. And there's so many wonderful things you can do and relationships waiting to be found. What if your neighbor's just sitting there also just wanting to go walking with somebody or to just praying for a friend and you're right next door. So go and find people who also want to do the same thing.

00:03:58.979 --> 00:04:07.050
We think about neighborhood community groups, like we see this rucksack. Great. Yeah, firehouse. I

00:04:07.050 --> 00:04:23.310
was out, as you were saying that I had that thought to recently we saw in our neighborhood, and we we've never heard of it, but it's called ruck sacking where this group of 50 maybe even 100 people. Yeah, they put on a backpack that has weights in it. And it can vary.

00:04:20.730 --> 00:04:37.350
I think you can do 10 pounds, whatever, 50 pounds, but it's just you build that team. It's just the act of walking, but you have this added weight so it gives your body more of a workout. But all these people, the biggest thing that I see is they're all talking with each other and they're laughing and they're having fun

00:04:37.379 --> 00:05:04.230
creating memories, and creating community. Yeah, so that is a great way to look into your community what's offered that you can become a part of or if you don't want something that that actually is so set and scheduled and structured. Get with a friend find out something that they want to do or that they'd love to love to do. Like just go for a walk or go Check out the nature trails in your area. And I've heard his line dancing.

00:05:04.529 --> 00:05:16.649
And that's where you again, you're meeting with other people. Now, you had mentioned just a moment ago about finding a neighbor who wants to exercise. But what if they don't know they want to exercise or I'm sorry, movement. But you say,

00:05:16.649 --> 00:05:18.000
Don't hang up on you. He said,

00:05:18.959 --> 00:05:33.660
exercise, I'm just thinking of what if there's someone that is maybe alone, and they're, they don't know that they need to get out and move and you see them and you just invite them for a walk. So hey, it's a beautiful day today, why don't we get outside and walk?

00:05:31.079 --> 00:06:01.560
So you're doing both, you're building that relationship with them, but then you're also getting them moving. And the reason I mentioned that is just that they may not be thinking, hey, I need to get moving for my health. And there are just tons and tons of health benefits with it. I mean, the one that comes to mind is that studies have actually shown that mild to moderate in the terms of the study, they said exercise, but movement was actually shown to be as effective for depression as medication. Wow. Okay. It's

00:06:01.560 --> 00:06:44.670
amazing. Now think of another way that you could also decrease depression is by serving others. What if you could combine serving others with exercise? Now you may be asking, Well, how do you do that? Yeah, and I mean, there are easy ways I want you to just sit down and brainstorm some different ways, the first thing that comes to mind is joining up with some type of group like Habitat for Humanity, or when we were involved with called both hands that we're super passionate about, still, you'll most likely hear us talk about that a lot. That's where we helped to widow and in the process, we were able to raise money to bring our child home through adoption. And so that's one way you can help an orphan and a widow and a family who's bringing a baby home from through adoption.

00:06:44.788 --> 00:06:47.848
So that's something that we'll put a link in the description.

00:06:48.238 --> 00:06:53.759
If you want to learn more about that. It's an incredible organization, check that out.

00:06:50.668 --> 00:06:58.678
But again, let's say you're really busy, you're a corporate woman, or you're an entrepreneur, and you run your own business like what you do.

00:06:58.889 --> 00:07:15.778
And maybe you just don't want something so structured that might not work for your schedule. Well, is there somebody you know of around town or next door an elderly person, maybe that needs help with something like their their fence looks like it's in need of repair, it could use some paper, this

00:07:15.779 --> 00:07:31.500
is one that our kids did several years back, we had a neighbor that was a little bit older, and they would go and rake their yard, they loved it, they got out all two or three of them got rakes, and they wouldn't break out. But they would rake our neighbor's yard.

00:07:28.949 --> 00:07:34.889
But it was an act of service and they got a good arm workout. And they enjoyed it. They loved it.

00:07:34.949 --> 00:08:39.330
And if you have children, get them involved, make it a project just for a couple of hours on the weekend, where you're teaching them service, you're teaching them to care about somebody beside themselves. And at the same time, you're all getting exercise, and you're serving someone else, which is going to decrease your depression make you feel better, decrease your stress, because you're focusing on somebody besides yourself. I mean, that just makes sense. And And all the while you're getting exercise, you're getting sunshine and vitamin D, fresh air, possibly some grounding in there, go back and listen to our episode on that. If you haven't heard about that, it's a wonderful way to increase your health. But we want you to think about how many different ways we just are putting this episode out there for you to get you to start thinking, start brainstorming write down into the brain 10 different ideas of ways that you could exercise and create memories with others. He can make phone calls while you walk or jog or ride a bike. And that's doing two things at once, right. So if you've got Bendel's to make for your business, you can do that at the same time that you're moving more. And that's a wonderful way to get

00:08:39.450 --> 00:08:43.289
exercise. We just want you to think outside the four walls, right?

00:08:43.528 --> 00:09:09.328
So that is what we're talking about today. Get out there, get moving Park further away, take the stairs, find some creative and find ways that you like to get moving, and you'll start seeing the health benefits very, very soon. And you might even make a big impact on somebody else's life. And that's one of the reasons we're all here because the truth is, your life just isn't about you. It's about so much more than that.
