00:01:21.420 --> 00:02:03.870
Now, my story if you haven't heard it, go back and listen to episode one. But I'm going to share some things about me that you might not know today. And one of those things is that I love snacking, you maybe you understand that maybe you love that too. You know, have people even tell me, I can do great all day long. But then I get home and in my pantry are the snacks that I just love. And for me, those things were cheeses and chips and all those things and with crunch. And of course that usually involves some kind of incredible dip like a beam dip or a nacho cheese dip. Well let me let you in on a little secret. We still really enjoy those things. Right, Jarrod?
00:02:01.709 --> 00:02:08.310
Like what are your favorite things that we have now for dips? I love nacho cheese dip.
00:02:08.370 --> 00:02:18.060
We sell incredible nacho cheese dip. That's probably the well that and hummus. Oh, I forgot about hummus. How can I forget hummus. I was just that's what I was waiting for. I was waiting.
00:02:18.060 --> 00:02:25.139
I was thinking Wait a minute, he loves Emma's and we dip a lot of different things in that.
00:02:22.409 --> 00:02:25.139
They're just different things.
00:02:25.139 --> 00:03:02.430
We still get the crunch, but we're going to shift how we're doing that. But the thing is, you know, a lot of people just set themselves up for failure from the beginning. because number one, you're thinking all the time that I have to stop eating this, I have to stop eating that instead of when secretly you may not really want to write. Yeah, because you love the crunchy love the flavor of what you have. And you know, you shouldn't, but you haven't, and you think you're gonna cover all this in just a moment, but you haven't found something to put in its place. And so you just end up holding on to it and never getting rid of the thing that doesn't love you back.
00:03:02.490 --> 00:03:29.699
That's exactly right. And so the thing is, you've just got to find those different ways to have them like we were just saying. So first, you need to get your mindset right now, you know, there are a lot of different thoughts that need to be reframed to get a healthy body, because what you're thinking now hasn't gotten you where you want to be. And that's why we're passionate about spending time with our clients teaching you how to go step by step and change your mindset.
00:03:29.699 --> 00:04:09.060
It's one of the first things we do inside our membership. But right now there are things you can do to start making those simple shifts today, that can change everything for you. And the first one is this, stop thinking and talking about what you can't eat. You're not going to set myself, I can't have cheese's I can't have chips. And one of the things that Jared always says is to reframe that to how can I so if you like something like I like a real crunchy snack or a crunchy cracker, well, how can I have that in a way that I still enjoy, but it's just good for me that fuels my body? Well, and that's extremely important.
00:04:07.229 --> 00:04:18.480
Because if you're always focusing on what you can't have, that's the only thing you're thinking about. And the conversation, your mind just stops it. I can't have this.
00:04:15.210 --> 00:04:39.810
Well, don't you think that's a deprivation mindset. Like a lot of that comes from just a history of dieting, or hearing people tell us if you want to get healthy, you have to restrict your calories and restrict your portions and you can't have this and you can't have that. And we'll tell you there are things you need to choose not to eat, but it's your choice. This is your life. You don't have to not eat anything.
00:04:36.120 --> 00:05:00.000
It's what are you going to choose to do for your body to set yourself up for success and you've got to get away from that deprivation mindset, because that way of living is just miserable and never leads to anything but crazy cravings and bad choices. And by reframing it the question to how can I have that keeps you thinking that keeps you problem solving and
00:05:00.000 --> 00:05:02.819
That allows you to find solutions that are out there.
00:05:03.060 --> 00:06:14.100
Because when you say, I can't, it stops there, you're not looking for those solutions. And I actually heard that this is a little off topic. But Robert Kiyosaki the Rich Dad, Poor Dad, he had his poor dad that said, we can't afford that. But then I think it was a friend's father who's kind of like a father figure to him who had some money and said, No, no, no, don't do that. Think about how can you afford that? And when I heard that many years ago, that really stuck with me. Well, we still teach that to the children today. I mean, it's really important, because if you say, I can't have that, or I can never have that, you're never going to set yourself up in your life in a way that you can't. And the truth is nine times out of 10, you can there is a way, but are you going to find it, and once you find it, are you going to do it, and it comes down to a lot of that as well. But in my life, this would have sounded something like this, oh, I just love cheese. But I know cheese is bad for me. And so I can't have it anymore. No, I have a choice. It's not that I can't have it. I know it clogs my arteries, I know how it made me feel heavy and weighed down, and it led to disease in my life.
00:06:10.769 --> 00:08:02.970
And in the end, it would never give you the energy you need. So that you do all the things you love to do. But you can't do right now because you just don't feel good in it, right? So you're gonna choose not to, because you know, where that path has led you. And it's not where you want to be. So instead, from this point forward, you're just gonna choose to give your body the great stuff, the things that's been missing for so long, you're putting yourself first and you're choosing to build a life is filled with energy. And then the most important thing, and this is what we're always going for as possibility. That's just like what Jared was saying there with finances. You know, if you reframe that to, I'm choosing this, or I'm choosing not to have this, how can I it's not I can't it's how can I, then you're switching, you're opening up this huge door possibility in your life, in your health and your finances and whatever area that is, and that can change everything. If you stop the podcast right now and you put that into action, your life is gonna change, it's gonna change, do it. Okay, now, did you have anything you want to add for that one? Alright, step number two, getting into the right environment. This is something we also train people on. But we go a lot deeper, because we have a lot more time. So we thought, What is one big key takeaway one Golden Nugget that we can drop for you today that you can put in your pocket, and then take out and start using not just keep it in your pocket? Okay, so friends tell me that they go throughout their day, and they came home to the stuff in their pantry, or they do fine, we talked about this earlier. And until you open up maybe your desk drawer, or you found that candy bar in your purse. So the first thing you need to do is to simply start cleaning out and clearing out those spaces. Get the foods out of there that you're choosing to set aside.
00:08:03.240 --> 00:08:07.050
you'll choose to stop allowing them access to your environment.
00:08:07.410 --> 00:08:19.110
And then this is really important. Don't leave a hole where those things were, let me say that again. Do not leave a hole where those things were, please do this for yourself.
00:08:19.379 --> 00:08:46.620
replace those foods with things that make you feel amazing, and that you also enjoy. Listen, we talk about this all the time. Go back and listen to other episodes, get into the membership. We show exactly how to do this. We take our members by the hand and step by step walk you through every single path that part of this path and this journey of how to make these shifts and these changes.
00:08:42.240 --> 00:09:59.970
Just one simple example. If you enjoy chili, let's just use chili for an example. How do you get your chili now it's not like I can't have chili Mart's How do I have chili? You find a way to get good ingredients get those same flavor profiles in there and we shouldn't we know exactly how to do that. What else like the crackers we were talking about or the Nacho dip. I eat stringy, gooey Nacho. Nacho chip nachos that taste every bit like ballpark nacho cheese, it's actually it's even better. And you never miss it. And my kids are going mom you put cheese in this and it doesn't taste like sharp cheddar. I was going for a ballpark nacho cheese. How do I do that? Well, there's a combo of veggies that you can do and spices and seasonings that makes it super simple to get the Nacho dip. The key is finding those replacements for those same things that you like, as close as possible. Because if you do that you're setting yourself up to live a life you enjoy. And what's gonna happen if you do that, well you're gonna keep doing that forever. Because now you're not on a diet not restricting portions or calories or anything like that and you don't feel any sense of deprivation. Absolutely. And that's what we have noticed with this is that we enjoy everything we do now, way much more than
00:10:00.000 --> 00:10:35.730
We did before. So like with the chili, we've taken the meat out of it, we have those flavors in there. It's a good hearty meal, and we love it, it's amazing. And then what you do is you're just shifting your environment and your focus, you're getting more and more of the great stuff, that's gonna automatically push the foods that are sabotaging you out of your life. So then you're going to be worrying less and less about their suits. Now you're gonna stop thinking about what you're even choosing not to have. Now you can be focused more and more on the good stuff.
00:10:31.799 --> 00:11:30.330
Because automatically, you're pushing that stuff out, if you're putting more of the good stuff in the bad stuffs being pushed out, just by way of what happens. That's just what happens. Now you saying this, about getting things out of your environment and reminds me something that Michael Hyatt did, he did a study looking at willpower. And I think you may even battle with this, I'll just use the willpower, I don't want to get rid of this thing, I paid good money for it. I'm just gonna willpower myself, or maybe I just eat a little bit here and there. What Michael Hyatt found was that there really was no such thing as willpower. Meaning you can't just willpower yourself through a situation, what they found was that controlling your environment was the best way to make those changes. Absolutely like mindset of willpower. If it's not there, you're not going to eat it. If you have a great substitute that you've discovered, and it's there. What are you going to do?
00:11:27.240 --> 00:11:30.330
You're going to reach for that.
00:11:30.570 --> 00:12:39.360
And that works in so many different areas of your life. I mean, I think about how people we want to have a strong family life today. But yet, a lot of children from the time they're two years old are set with iPads, laptops, tablets, and now they can't even sit at a family table and have a conversation and a meal. Why? Because they've got that thing there in their hands. And we say well, we just want to have we just want to willpower ourselves into we're just going to develop a better family. No, we've got to set up steps for that to happen all throughout our life so that now we're sitting at the table together enjoying a meal, and our children can hold a conversation with adults, those things are important. I didn't mean to totally change the subject here. But this is something you can carry into other areas of your life as far as your nutrition goes, like cheered saying willpower. It really it doesn't even exist because it doesn't it doesn't help you can't just power through, I'll just power through. Well, we know that from our own lives. You when you get hungry. It is so easy to convince yourself. Well, this food is not that bad. Sure it's processed. Sure I probably shouldn't eat it. But I'm hungry right now. And it probably isn't that bad. And you're going to end up with food regret.
00:12:40.679 --> 00:13:35.429
Oh, it's awful. And you eat it now that you're not hungry anymore. And you start thinking, Oh, yeah, you know, it probably had some of this ingredient in it or had that whatever. And it, I probably shouldn't have done that. Well, you know, a friend of mine told me the other day, I was sitting with her. And she said, that is the one thing that early on, kept me on track with anything I've ever done. That was good for me, especially eating more and more whole plant foods. You know, I quote messed up and I went and had this meal or whatever. And she said, Listen, the repercussions of that after about four or five weeks of my body being used to the really great step. She said, I won't be doing that again, because I know now how bad those things made me feel bad. I just didn't realize how bad it was on you. It was bad. She said, but I didn't realize how bad it was until I had been almost detox off it because I've been getting more and more of the good stuff.
00:13:31.980 --> 00:14:40.740
And just by nature of that the bad stuff was pushed out in my life. And so now let that step back in, oh, it's one meals not gonna hurt me. It's just once in a while. And she did it. And she was so sick. And she said, You know, I was living this way, my entire life. And now that I felt good for the past four or five weeks, I don't want to go back to that again, that was miserable. And my boss, he told me, no, you don't want to do this to yourself. And we've even had that too when we've eaten things that maybe had maybe some oil in it that that was a lot more into it. And you just didn't really notice it. But after the fact, you think, Oh, I'm feeling something here, I'm feeling not great. It probably had this much oil or a little too much of salt and right, whatever. And that's not to say you can't go out and enjoy things. I mean, women show people how to do that. How do you eat out and enjoy it and not feel deprived? And how do you go to a friend's house who doesn't eat this way and all those kinds of things we we know I mean, that's the reality of living in this world. And it's not always going to be 100% perfect and you don't have to be perfect. You're not going for perfection here.
00:14:40.950 --> 00:14:46.799
You're trying to get the absolute best for yourself every day that you can getting better and better and better every day.
00:14:46.799 --> 00:14:50.759
And over time those changes.
00:14:46.799 --> 00:14:59.970
They add up to a completely different life. I mean, look at us. I was having clogged arteries I was laying I would lay on the side and I would hear the wishing and my face would go numb on my left side when I would lay on my left side.
00:15:00.000 --> 00:15:17.970
That doesn't happen anymore. You know, Jared was having signs of having vascular issues. He was having pain, joint pain constantly, my pain was so severe, I just felt hopeless and helpless with my low energy and things like that, that I couldn't run and take care of my kids. When we traveled, I couldn't go and do all the things I wanted to do.
00:15:18.299 --> 00:16:21.450
Never mind thinking about starting a business to try to help anybody. I mean, those things were just out the door for me. So I had to build a life that I felt great. And that starts with shifting your mindset and shifting your environment. It's not always just your physical environment, we also talk about the people you're around. And there are a lot of different things about your environment that go into that they're even in the route you take to work can sometimes be a thing with your environment. So shift your environment and get your focus more and more on the great stuff. Because that will automatically push the foods, the ones that were sabotaging you out of your life, I want you to stop what you're doing right now and think about that for a minute, because it's a total game changer. Don't ever forget that. If you eat more of the great stuff, the five foundational foods we're going to talk about in just a minute, you're going to buy just by nature, the other things are gonna just get pushed out of your life where you only have so much room in your stomach. Yeah, so when you're eating the good stuff, as you get full, then there's no room for the other.
00:16:21.509 --> 00:16:40.799
And you just don't worry about it, you don't have time to worry about it anymore. And the amazing thing is, as you do this, your cravings will even change, and your taste buds will start to change and you don't crave or think about those things anymore. It is true, it does happen. And sometimes it's not even that you just don't think about them, you can't even stomach the thought of eating them. And I'm not kidding you.
00:16:40.799 --> 00:17:00.179
That sounds crazy to you right now. That is reality. And it's wonderful, because that is freedom, that's when the food loses its Hold on You were you're thinking about it all the time, certain snacks, or you gotta have this or that, you just I mean, you could walk behind in the grocery store, and you couldn't care less about it.
00:16:57.149 --> 00:17:03.720
I mean, really, you couldn't care less. And it's wonderful.
00:17:00.179 --> 00:17:41.130
It's really wonderful. Another good example just thought of is when you're passing by restaurants, and you smell that familiar smell, and you may have some good memories and associations with it. But it doesn't draw you in. It's not like you stop the car turn around, and hey, we're just gonna go you know, we're a little hungry, let's go have a snack. It just doesn't draw you in. It doesn't have that same pole. No, I mean, we'll go on family walks through our neighborhood. And we'll be walking and feeling great smelling the fresh air. And all of a sudden the smell of grilled meat. Now that may make you salivate right now, but I'm just telling you, once you do this for a while, it almost turns your stomach The smell is totally different. It smells are different. tastes are different.
00:17:41.339 --> 00:19:20.849
And you'll you'll see it and smell vegetables and things like that. And it affects you like the meats and things used to and the cheese's. It just say it affects you the same it doesn't have that addictive hold, though. It's just you are happy about those things. I guess that's what I'm saying. Does that make other memories and associations? Yeah, like, if you would grill out with friends or family, I mean, you still have those good memories. And I feel like looking back on certain food items, those were the positive things, those that experience the memories and the relationships. But the first bite after that, you would feel terrible. Yeah, it's just not good. It's changes you get freedom. And that's what you have to look forward to. Now, what if you're sharing space with someone who is not on board at this time, then it's time for you to focus on finding simple ways to set yourself up for success by setting up some of your own spaces so that you initially can avoid their things as much as possible. If those things tempt you, and just don't go into their spaces, find yourself just one little cabinet space or one space in the refrigerator that's mostly yours. I mean, there's so many different ways you can do this, we want you to find something that works for you. I'm not going to tell you now, specifically this way in that way, in this way we can get into that we do that inside the membership. But what I want you to think about for you is how can that work for you? How could you set that up on a day to day basis, that you're not going to be around those things as much and they do start to lose their hold. And then it's isn't a lifetime thing. If you're always going to have to have a separate space and you're always gonna have to do this. It's just getting those first few weeks of detoxing, getting off these things that have a hold on you.
00:19:21.059 --> 00:20:00.000
And they start losing their hold and you get your life back. It's wonderful. So think about ways that will work for you and make it happen because to succeed you absolutely have to learn for yourself, how to get more of the great stuff around you on a regular basis. Listen, it's not just about the things that are sabotaging your life. And getting those out of the way your focus needs to shift away from the foods you're choosing to set aside to getting more and more of the five foundational foods each and every day in a way that you love. This is the huge key to healing. This is a huge key to thriving because without these nutrients, your body will not be able to heal and give you it's very
00:20:00.000 --> 00:20:23.160
At best you need fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, which are beans and lentils, you need nuts and seeds every day. So what do you do? you bother? You store those, you put beautiful displays of those things where you can just grab those and go make I mean, these are beautiful by nature.
00:20:23.160 --> 00:21:05.190
They're gorgeous. Why do Box Tops and box faces? And why did they pick all these bright, vibrant colors that you just naturally See, when you walk into the produce section section, the ones that God created for us to eat the colors draw us, the colors tell us, this is nutritious, this is good for you. And it's beautiful, it's pleasing to our eyes pleasing to our taste. Once we can clear out all the other things that our body is used to eating right now the standard American diet foods that are sabotaging your health, you know, there's a reason they copy those colors. And just realize that the front of the containers just advertising. Absolutely. So it wants to be trying to sell that product.
00:21:01.650 --> 00:21:07.950
They're trying to draw you and so just be aware of that.
00:21:05.190 --> 00:21:32.099
Because if you're you don't know what you don't know. So if you're aware of that, that can help you shift and make those good choices. You say, Oh, I see this box or whatever. It looks like this natural product. Why am I drawn to it? Maybe because I really want the natural product, the produce and the produce section. Absolutely. So you want to make those beautiful displays get the good stuff into your life it is your furniture will never look any prettier.
00:21:32.279 --> 00:21:38.519
Your Pantry will never look any better. Get those things, grab those. Those are the things you want to be in your environment.
00:21:38.519 --> 00:22:35.880
Why? Because you will eat what they're trained yourself in that write that down somewhere, put it on a calendar on your desktop, I will eat what's there. Because if it's there, you're going to eat it. If it's not there. Guess what? You're probably not going to jump in your car and drive 10 minutes down the road to get it you're probably not so clean out the purse, the pantry, get yourself a space that's all your own. Put your treat things in there, but make them good. You've got to read we've got to reframe what even traits are because we're not used to reading labels and you don't know how those things affect your body. So you've got to figure that out. Well Shan, too many times we associate treat with almost like a what's the word I'm looking for here? Almost like a sinful type of goodie. I don't know, when we think of it. Okay, this tastes good. But it's unhealthy, right?
00:22:32.490 --> 00:22:53.579
treats don't have to be that way. Now, we tons of delicious, wonderful treats. But like I said before, it's foods that we love, but that love us back. I think rip Esselstyn we heard him first say that you want to eat foods that love you back. And if you can look at whatever you're about to eat and say, This is not going to promote my health.
00:22:53.579 --> 00:22:59.670
This is not gonna love me back, then you probably shouldn't eat it. We eat treats every day.
00:22:56.309 --> 00:23:02.670
Every day. We have treats, they're just reframed. Again, it's a different way to get it.
00:23:02.700 --> 00:23:06.809
We have chocolate drinks that we drink, love it healthy, super healthy.
00:23:07.950 --> 00:23:23.970
Powder, super high in antioxidants, which we don't focus too much on that. Because these foods just naturally have them. But super high in the phytonutrients. The chia seeds and flax seeds, we're getting our omega three seeds every day.
00:23:24.240 --> 00:24:20.819
And there's wonderful ways that you can do this and get get it with whole plant foods. Not a refined sugar, getting the oils out the eggs out. You can bake banana bread without eggs. No. I mean, we make banana bread, my eight year old makes it that's how easy it is the other day, she brought me a whole plate filled with banana bread for breakfast. It had no flour in it, it had no eggs, no oil, tasty, moist, wonderful, incredible banana bread. She's making it all her own. So she spent sprinkles without someone and some raisins on top of the other. She put a little sprinkle in a little drizzle of nut butter on one. And just they have so much fun. Get your kids involved. Let them get in the kitchen and make memories. It's incredible for them. You know, Jared not understand that there are a lot of things that need to be addressed regarding your mindset, and your environment.
00:24:14.849 --> 00:24:27.720
Those two things are key if you want to have lasting success, and we just don't have time on the podcast to address them all.
00:24:23.759 --> 00:24:35.579
But we've given you some very big keys today. That will make all the difference for you now, and that's what you need to do.
00:24:32.309 --> 00:24:59.970
You need to start putting into practice what you've learned, do these things, take them away, don't just learn. You know, what you have to do is take the first two steps, these two steps we gave you gave you today, put those into action. You know, it's like sitting and listening to this incredible sermon. Okay, you leave church you tell everybody around you how incredible it was. Oh, can you believe how amazing that was? I mean, it was fantastic.
00:25:00.000 --> 00:25:38.759
It was convicting. Oh, yeah, I mean, he's never spoken like that it was Oh, it just touched me right here real deep, you know, it was so good. Listen to me, it meant absolutely nothing to you. If you don't go and start putting into action right away what you learned, because number one, without doing what you learned, it will never become a new way of life for you, meaning your life will not be changed at all. If you don't do what you now know. So you've wasted all that time. And you've talked about how great it is, but you've never done it. And so it never becomes a new habit.
00:25:35.279 --> 00:26:51.569
And number two, you're going to eventually then forget what you learned. Again, you didn't make it a habit and it becomes I remember that great sermon he did one time about, wait a minute, what was that about? And then you just have to go listen to the podcasts are the mp3 again, if I can find it. I need to look back at my notes. Look, do you dream of feeling great enough to step out and start that new business of yours? Or of traveling the world and exploring all those places you just love to see? Or do you dream of just running around and actually playing with your children and grandchildren to a ripe old age? Look, it's not normal. It's not normal to lose function of your body as you get older. It is not normal to develop high blood pressure and high cholesterol as you get older. It's just not you know, we bought a lie and we want to free you guys from that. Okay, right now today is the time to start creating the life you want. The one that makes you feel amazing. And that gives you all the energy you need to get out there and make your dreams become reality, to live the life of purpose that you woman and purpose were created to live.
