00:00:51.450 --> 00:03:19.139
Hi, friend, how are you today we are excited to be talking to you about some great news. We've just gotten. You know, in the past, we've talked a lot about our changes. And if you haven't heard that, go back and listen specifically to episode number one, where I share my journey about Whole Foods plant based living and how it's changed everything for us. Things like vascular disease, reversing sleep, improving skin improvements, pain and fatigue going away, that was the huge one for me, right being a mom, and being busy all the time, not having the energy to do all the things that I had in my heart and all the dreams that I wanted to do. The places I wanted to travel with my children and the business I wanted to grow even not being able to do that, because I just had no energy. So this way of living makes a huge difference for you. But not only is it gonna affect you, it will affect your other family members as well. Because your mom, I mean, what a moms do, or your grandma mom, or your aunt even I mean, just being a woman in a family. Generally, I would say nine times out of him, maybe if not more, you're doing most of the cooking, or at least the planning of the meal. So you're giving the shopping list to the head, your husband or you know, whoever's doing the shopping in your family, or maybe you're going and doing the shopping yourself. And then you're creating the meal plans or getting the ones together that are even pre made. You're trying to figure out this whole journey on your own sometimes. And that can be frustrating. And that can feel overwhelming. That's why we're so passionate about doing what we're doing. Because we know how this way of living can change things. And it doesn't have to be hard. One of the reasons we love it so much is because it is so easy to do. And I told you the other day, the more time I spend cooking, the less time I spend cooking I mean really didn't know exactly is that think that was exactly your words, like the more I cook, the less I cook, that's what it was, the more I cook, the less I cook. So, the big thing for today is a report we got recently about our daughter. So see this can even change your children's lives. It's huge. Now our daughter is 16, one of our daughters in the one that we're talking about today. And when she was 12, she was diagnosed with elevated eye pressure. And that was really concerning for us. But maybe you don't understand what elevated pressures are. Now Jarrod is going to talk a little bit more about that.
00:03:19.530 --> 00:04:14.310
Yes, well in the eye, you have the front part of the eye where there is fluid that is produced. And what it does is helps to keep the eye employed, it helps it to hold it shape can think of balloon with air in it how you have pressure, and it keeps that balloon in a round ball pipe shape. Well, same thing happens with the front part of your eye. Now as that fluid is produced, eventually, it has to go somewhere. Because it needs to keep only a certain amount of pressure, you don't want them to be too high as in the case of what we're talking about today. So there are a little drain holes there that help that extra fluid to come out. And it works in perfect balance so that you have enough pressure, but not too much. And in some cases, like what we're talking about today with our daughter, the pressure can go too high. And that can have some pretty serious consequences to your eye health into your vision.
00:04:14.819 --> 00:05:26.550
Right? Well it can lead to glaucoma, increased eye pressure in that case can also lead to just damage of your eyes structures because things are being compressed in a way they were never meant to be compressed and so damage results, like poor vision or even blindness. So you can imagine how concerned we were I mean, as a parent, that's heartbreaking. You get this diagnosis about your child and it's scary and we get that and so we were just out remember coming home and just calling a friend of mine and saying look, you know, I know you go to a bunch of different nature Pathak doctors and different things and we're looking for different ways to make these changes. But we went all in with whole food plant based living Not long after that and it made such a huge and dramatic difference which We're going to be showing you today. Now, what are the normal recommended treatments for this because it can lead to damage like poor vision and even blindness. And when you start thinking about that for your child, that's scary. Well, the recommended treatments could be medication drops, or potentially surgery, if you're a candidate for that down the rightness, she never was developing ideas, and she was young when we caught it.
00:05:22.439 --> 00:05:26.550
But I was, I was upset actually.
00:05:26.550 --> 00:05:44.189
Because when we found out when she was 12, I went back to her previous doctor from when she was 11, and looked at their results. And they had found that it was elevated. But they didn't tell me. So that's something that you may want to ask, Well, what was my eye pressure, that's a good thing to know. And a normal eye pressure is going to be anywhere between 10 and 20.
00:05:44.430 --> 00:06:03.839
So Hearst being we found out that hers actually was 26. I mean, that is really, really high. And that's why the doctors were getting concerned. And while we were concerned. And so we're wondering, you know, when we found that out, well, what causes this right? What is it that causes elevated pressures?
00:06:04.110 --> 00:06:08.279
Well, they they don't really seem to know exactly why
00:06:08.490 --> 00:06:10.889
certain mechanisms aren't very well understood.
00:06:11.100 --> 00:06:18.029
Right? Just basically, all we know is that the fluid isn't draining properly, the pressure is going up in that elevated pressure over time. And
00:06:18.029 --> 00:06:24.120
also to in their studies, they say that the structures when they look at them look normal, but they aren't functioning normally.
00:06:24.149 --> 00:06:26.310
Sometimes it says sometimes they do like normal.
00:06:26.310 --> 00:07:01.560
Yeah, absolutely. And sometimes they can see that there is damage. And so when you have elevated eye pressure, at all times, even really, you need to keep a check on your eyes and on your vision, you want to make sure that your eyes are healthy, because we all want to have clear vision. So normal again, it's 10 to 20 hertz was 26. And so when we started eating better, her eye pressure dropped to 22. And the next thing we did was we went all in with whole food plant base with my issues that I was having, we did that not really thinking, Hey, this is going to help her I pressure.
00:06:58.620 --> 00:07:41.040
Well, then her next appointment, it was down to 18. And then a couple of days ago, we just had her latest appointment. And guess what they were down to six team. I mean, that is so well into the normal range. It's not even a concern. I mean, that stress, that worry has just been lifted off of us, just by eating normally. Now we have some thoughts about why this is research has yet to find exactly what's going on. But what we do know is the more whole plant foods that you can get into your life, the less inflammation you're going to have. And the less inflammation you have, the less damage that's going to be done in your body. Because inflammation can wreak havoc on your body.
00:07:41.490 --> 00:08:06.540
Well, you could look at inflammation where there's little drain holes are and if they're swollen, then it narrows those holes, and they won't drain properly. I mean, same type thing happens with the sinuses. I've heard of a lot of people getting sinus surgery, because the holes where the mucus comes out of the sinus cavities is too small, it gets backed up. And then you get sinus infections and pressure and then all kinds of problems.
00:08:03.480 --> 00:08:14.790
So it's not really a stretch to say, could it be inflammation that is causing these holes to not drain properly? Right? I don't think it's a big stretch.
00:08:14.939 --> 00:08:15.540
And then we
00:08:15.540 --> 00:08:24.480
also know that things can change very dramatically with our circulatory system, right?
00:08:21.060 --> 00:08:24.480
We've talked about this before.
00:08:24.480 --> 00:08:33.240
So your cholesterol can come down rapidly. You will why is that because plant foods don't have cholesterol only animal foods do and then
00:08:33.330 --> 00:08:35.789
your body makes all the cholesterol it needs.
00:08:36.360 --> 00:09:13.049
Yeah. And then, and then your plant foods are filled with fiber. And so if you're eating fiber, your body's cleaning itself out on a regular basis, your good gut bacteria are getting food, they are rapidly dividing and repairing damage to your gut. And that changes so many things. So think about your vascular system is now and they have pictures of this literal pictures of arteries opening back up that were clogged because of eating plants for extended periods of time. And you're not, you're not going to do that in one meal, or you didn't get where you are today with one meal, we didn't get where we are today with one meal, that just doesn't happen.
00:09:13.049 --> 00:09:22.740
And so this is long term. And for any permanent changes to happen, you have to make permanent changes, you need to make long term change changes.
00:09:19.950 --> 00:09:37.409
But when you start thinking about that, that can be so overwhelming because you think, oh, I've got to do this thing and that thing and this thing and that thing. And we don't want you to be overwhelmed because what you need to know is one change, and then another change. And then another simple change that you actually enjoy.
00:09:37.769 --> 00:09:47.429
And that you're going to keep doing is the key. So we want to show you how to make those changes one at a time. And you think if you just made one change a week,
00:09:47.759 --> 00:09:48.570
just one a week,
00:09:48.600 --> 00:10:02.580
that's 52 and a year, your life isn't gonna look anything the same in 50 to 52 weeks in one year. If you do that one change a week that becomes a habit right? So it's because you're doing Get over Tom. Well, why don't diets work?
00:10:02.610 --> 00:10:07.440
And I mean, you're making all these changes. Why don't they work, because they're miserable.
00:10:07.620 --> 00:10:12.029
Nobody wants to animal they're not anything that you would want to do. I mean, who wants
00:10:13.440 --> 00:10:21.299
I mean, who wants to eat cardboard tasting food, food that tastes like cardboard all the time, who wants to count calories all the time, go out for a meal with your friends.
00:10:21.450 --> 00:10:30.750
And you're sitting there and trying to figure out grams and macros and calories and points and percents of carbs and fats, and all these different things.
00:10:26.490 --> 00:10:38.759
If you know principles that you can live by that you love, so that you make habits that make you feel amazing, and the food tastes great. And you enjoy it.
00:10:38.759 --> 00:10:50.370
And you're spending less time in the kitchen. And you're spending less money out of your pocket for doctor's visits. And many times for the food you're eating cha ching. Yeah, I'm in. I mean, this is a game changer.
00:10:50.820 --> 00:11:03.899
Let me see. Better, prepare food faster, so don't have to spend as much time in the kitchen, save money, enjoy it live longer have more energy.
00:10:59.639 --> 00:11:06.090
Where's the downside? And the food tastes great. I don't I don't see a downside.
00:11:07.259 --> 00:11:22.919
Downside. The only downside if you consider it a downside is having to learn something new. And if you've got somebody to lead you through it step by step who loves it? Who's been there? Who knows what it's like? Who can answer your questions, who's accessible?
00:11:17.909 --> 00:11:59.879
What have you got to lose? I mean, these are the foods that are grown that were prepared and created for you that research shows and it shouldn't surprise us that research shows that it's the entire package that makes the difference. You know, you start extracting white sugars, you start extracting oils and frying up your foods and drizzle and quote healthy oils on your salad, you're gonna end up with problems. Why is that because you weren't made to eat them in that way, and science backs it up. And so now we have all these things lining up. But then you think I can't eat salad all my life? Well, you don't have to. I mean, we chili we pizza, we eat
00:12:00.779 --> 00:12:05.669
tacos, we even have some desserts and treats that we love. Our before
00:12:05.669 --> 00:12:28.139
us absolutely wonderful drinks, breakfast, lunch and dinner, you've just got to know how to do it in a way that makes you feel amazing. And then your life changes. But not only that, as a mom, as a grandmother, as an aunt, you're a life changer already. And people are watching you. So you're setting an example about what you do.
00:12:24.240 --> 00:12:39.059
you're preparing a path for your children and for future generations about what you put in your pantry in your refrigerator. And if you know how to make those foods in a way that you love them, and you're going to love them because they're going to love you back.
00:12:39.240 --> 00:12:48.990
They're going to make you feel amazing. They're going to power you up and fuel you up in a way that you can do the things that you dreamt about doing before.
00:12:46.080 --> 00:12:55.620
But you couldn't do because you felt like you were just watching life pass you by. Because you were exhausted all the time.
00:12:51.269 --> 00:12:59.070
Because you were worn out and you just needed naps and you needed to rest. You're not going to have that anymore.
00:12:59.460 --> 00:13:52.110
Yeah, one point that I thought to hear just a moment ago, you're talking about being a mom being an aunt, being a grandmother and being a changer, it's very easy for us to look at the things that we're doing and think that this will be something that affects us way down the line. Even your children, you may think well, this may not be the best choice for what I'm feeding them. But there'll be okay for now. This is may not be something that I worry about until much much later if we even think about that at all. But in our case with our daughter, I mean, at 1112 years old already started showing these things. And it wasn't causing blindness obviously, yet, right. But if it went on for several more years, who knows, I mean, maybe wouldn't be until she was in her 50s maybe in her 20s. But this is stuff that can make a huge impact even very early on, like what we saw with her
00:13:52.200 --> 00:14:04.830
when the beauty is we don't have to know how that's gonna March out. We'll never know how that would have marched out because we decided to do something about it. Something that we enjoy, and something that worked. I mean, it works.
00:14:04.860 --> 00:14:11.940
The research is there. The experiences are there. The testimonials are countless, countless test.
00:14:12.210 --> 00:14:16.559
kids enjoy this as well.
00:14:12.210 --> 00:15:02.250
I know a lot of times you had when we were talking earlier you had mentioned about Sometimes kids are picky. They'll only want certain things. And we've had friends like this. We've seen children out and about where all they want are their goldfish crackers, or they're just a few items that they love that they'll eat. Yeah. And so they'll think that we need to just give them that. Well, no, I mean, they will adapt. It may not be the first time that they try it, but stick with it. Plus when it's delicious. And it's not cardboard. It's not a struggle. I mean, we have stuff that like Anita says tastes absolutely amazing. It's delicious. Our kids love it. Our kids will even make a lot of these recipes themselves on their own unprompted from us. I Yeah, they love it, they want it, they go make it.
00:15:02.669 --> 00:15:34.110
Listen, this is what is made app has made up my cookbook. I mean, the cookbook that I just have built of the 50 plus recipes, it's going to be available sane. It's called power on plants. And I'm telling you, this is what it's all about. It's got to be simple ingredients, it's got to be quick to make so easy your eight year old can make it my eight year old makes a lot of these recipes. But you're getting them things that are amazing. So when you first start, maybe they cook or don't cook. I mean, there are different ways you can do this.
00:15:34.110 --> 00:16:12.960
And we talk about this and teach these things inside our membership as well. But you've got to know how to show your children from an early age, get them in the kitchen, get them involved, help them to have fun, and they are with you and make memories and they're going to love it. Help them pick out, get them to help you pick out the produce and pick out the recipes. We'll talk more about how to get your kids involved as we go on, and how to get them excited about it. But at first, maybe you don't get them involved. Maybe you just start making new things and they don't know quite what's in there. And then you surprise them and then they get to know hey, I ate this right that and before long they're feeling better. I mean, I think about the our brownie batter Hemis that we make it has beans in it,
00:16:12.990 --> 00:16:14.250
and you would never know.
00:16:14.519 --> 00:16:18.450
It doesn't have any tasted you don't care. You say give me more.
00:16:19.289 --> 00:16:31.919
All right, your old she said, Mommy, can I just have a bowl of this? And I'm thinking Well, there's really nothing then there's it's bad for I don't know, why not? I mean, what dessert? Can you say that about? Right? She's getting her bean. She's getting your fiber in total zero
00:16:31.919 --> 00:16:32.399
guilt.
00:16:32.429 --> 00:16:56.220
Yeah, zero guilt. And she's getting all those phytonutrients. And listen, a mom's not beyond getting a little bowl that either with the Spain, I'm just saying, Wow, what are the kids get all the good stuff, you know, they don't, they don't. And so you get to enjoy this way of living together, and you get the good stuff. And it's simple. And it's easy, and it's quick. And the more you cook, the less you'll be cooking. It's wonderful. It
00:16:56.220 --> 00:17:04.529
really is true. Go and do some of the traditional dishes. I mean, the prep time, the cleanup time after it.
00:17:05.759 --> 00:17:13.049
Stories, three hours or more for the whole thing, three to four hours, we could have it condensed for the whole thing.
00:17:13.230 --> 00:17:22.829
Prep, cooking, cleaning up after it maybe under an hour. Yeah, maybe even less. I my word a whole lot, pitches in and helps do the dishes. And there's
00:17:23.400 --> 00:18:06.809
many ways to make it easier. But I mean, so many days, it's 30 minutes or less in the kitchen. It's just so easy to do. And a lot of the prep can be done when you're not even in the kitchen. So you're doing the things you love. You're live in your real life, instead of just standing behind a stove. It's crazy. And I love to cook better than anybody. But I'm a mom of four. You know, we run a business full time. I'm homeschooling them full time, I get how busy it is, you don't have time for all that stuff. So we just wanted to come on here and share with you this amazing testimonial of our daughter. You cannot believe how freeing that is. I mean, if you ever have a child who has been sick, and then they're well,
00:18:06.839 --> 00:18:09.059
such a huge stress off of our shoulders.
00:18:09.119 --> 00:18:21.480
Oh, it's amazing. And this is what we do. We just sent them really hard. We ate plants that we enjoyed, we found a way to get more into our life every single day. And by nature that's going to shove out the things that are causing the problem.
00:18:21.720 --> 00:18:43.440
You don't have to think Oh, I can't eat this. I can't eat that. You can have Fettuccine Alfredo, you can have pizza, you can have tacos, you can have beef, stews, beefless G is right. There are so many ways to do these things that taste amazing. We think it's the meat is the flavors. I could go on and on guys. There are incredible things awaiting you.
00:18:43.650 --> 00:19:00.960
Wonderful, incredible changes that can happen when you think medication and surgery are the only option. Sometimes there's more. And you know, if you notice long enough, you know, we're not against those things at the right place at the right time. But they're way over used.
00:18:57.210 --> 00:19:02.700
And there are many, many other wonderful options free
00:19:02.759 --> 00:19:04.859
and you have more power than you think.
00:19:04.888 --> 00:19:08.909
Absolutely. Absolutely.
00:19:04.888 --> 00:19:34.229
